The 2015 NATE Conference (National Association for the Teaching of English) took place in Newcastle on 27th June. We offered delegates a presentation about using theatre in English lessons.

We spoke about how drama can assist students’ understanding – but also how theatre and plays can help them get excited about language (both spoken and written)!

The seminar also explored the main differences between engaging with drama as an ‘audience’ and as an ‘artist’ (active or passive) – and how these distinct experiences could be adapted to assist teachers’ Learning Objectives.
